RAA's Drop-Off Station is more than a simple drop-off for traditional recyclables. For the past 50 years, it has served as an accessible public convenience center for residents without curbside service, including those in rural areas, multifamily communities, and outlying households.

If you've driven past us on East Ellsworth but have never stopped, watch our new video to see how it all works and discover why community-supported recycling centers like ours enhance recycling participation, help prevent illegal dumping of potentially harmful materials, and are essential to recycling infrastructure and community material management.

**Special FYI for Students Moving In:**
The City of Ann Arbor is providing six cardboard-only dumpsters located across downtown for recycling during the last week of August as part of student move-in. Please flatten your cardboard, remove all flexible film and Styrofoam. To find locations, dates, and times visit the city’s student move-out webpage under "Cardboard-Palooza."

✅ Ability to operate effectively in both office and field settings
✅ Practical, steady leadership style with a focus on ex*****on and follow-through

We offer competitive compensation and a mission-driven environment for the right candidate.

Having a BBQ or pool party this summer? Say no to party cups! Recycling is meant to be a solution to address the waste generated from grocery packaging, single-use items like plastic cups are not the solution. Even if these items can be recycled, it's worth asking: should they be?

As we close it's worth thinking about this important question. We can provide some perspective with the final video in our series, Episode 4: Into Recycle Ann Arbor's Zero Waste Future.

Recycle Ann Arbor was founded in 1977 to help combat litter. Nearly 50 years later, we see that big systems need to change to effectively tackle our waste problem, but individual actions still matter. Recycling is just the starting point— watch our video to learn more about the ways we are working within our community to reduce waste.

This video is part of a four-part video series that tells the story of who we are, what each division of Recycle Ann Arbor does, and where we are headed as we approach our 50th anniversary. If you missed our first three episodes, you can watch them here: Episode 1: https://youtu.be/q5hfJcISSZk, Episode 2: https://youtu.be/WQhaXOV1WK8, Episode 3: https://youtu.be/CCmj0WmvsLU

Congress should strengthen recycling—not weaken it.

Yesterday, Congress heard two bills that won't reduce waste or improve recycling. Instead, they would weaken consumer protections, undermine state leadership, and create new loopholes for recycled content claims.

AMBR urges Congress to reject the PACK Act and the Recycled Materials Attribution Act and instead pursue policies that strengthen recycling by promoting transparency, accountability, and real material recovery—not weaker standards that make it easier to market disposal as recycling. Read the latest statement from AMBR below.

Read AMBR's analysis at the link below.

Today, the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade held a hearing on two bills that would significantly change how recycling claims are regulated in the United States: the PACK Act and the Recycled Materials Attribution Act. Both bills are being promoted as efforts...

Listen to Zalika Rivers, our Assistant Operations Manager, as she explains why it's crucial to only place accepted materials in your curbside recycling cart. Zalika began her career at Recycle Ann Arbor as a MRF sorter and has firsthand experience with the negative impact of wishcycling on the sorting line. Although she grew up as an enthusiastic recycler, it was only when she started working on the sorting line that she fully grasped the dangers of wishcycling.
