Ann Arbor Potters Guild The range of work includes functional pottery, sculpture, tile work, and wearable art.

The Potters Guild is a cooperative non-profit organization establish in 1949, original and ongoing participant in the original Ann Arbor Art Fair since 1950, offering classes twice a year, with tent sales first Saturday/Sunday each June/December The Ann Arbor Potters Guild is a cooperative non-profit organization consisting of over fifty members who share the responsibility and administration of the studio. Firing techniques include low fire oxidation, raku, smoke firing, as well as high fire reduction. As individual artists, we display our work in galleries, locally, throughout Michigan, and across the United States. The Guild holds two sales per year at the studio (in the Spring and in early December) and has also participated in the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair since it began in 1959.

Mugshot Monday! We’re in love with these mugs by Donna Williams and so are the jurors for the Great Lakes Cup Show at Yourist Studio. The cup show run 10/23-11/14. Congratulations to Donna for being accepted into the show!

Donna says, “I’ve been working with crystal glazes for a while now and finding the variety of textured and three dimensional surfaces surprisingly active. It’s not always the lone crystal that is the most gratifying.”

Another kiln successfully loaded Ann Arbor Potters Guild Not one glazed dish was left behind - full to the very top! Pilots will be lit tonight and the kiln will fire for around 12 hours. Can’t wait to see the results? Me neither! Check back soon 😉

TWO spots have opened up !! In this workshop students will draw inspiration from historical animal pots. We begin with wheel-thrown or hand build forms prior to class with the teacher providing instructions for how to create the vessels so they can stiffen up and ready during class. Then the students can significantly altered them using a variety of hand building techniques to create playful and dynamic animal vessel forms.
The workshop will start Saturday & Sunday, October 3 & 4, 10
