Calling all youth ages 15–22 in Wayne and Washtenaw Counties! Looking for an opportunity to make your voice heard, build leadership skills, and help shape the future of adolescent healthcare? This could be for you.

REACH is a youth advisory council committed to helping shape healthcare programs and resources with youth perspectives, in the spirit of “nothing about us, without us.” REACH aims to increase leadership skills and professional development for youth, increase knowledge of youth needs in healthcare settings, and integrate youth perspectives into AHI initiatives. REACH members participate in a Youth Driven Project (YDP) and support AHI events such as the Annual Conference and Connection Sessions. AHI relies on REACH to inform its programs, help plan and execute AHI events, and develop new projects that integrate youth voice into adolescent health care.

No previous healthcare, advocacy, or leadership experience is required; we really value lived experiences and a willingness to learn!

Applications are open now and will close Friday, August 14, 2026.

Eligible youth are:
15 to 22 years old
Wayne or Washtenaw County residents
Passionate about youth advocacy or willing to learn

Summer break can be a chance to recharge, but it’s okay if it doesn’t always feel that way. ☀️💙

Changes in routine, loneliness, summer jobs, family stress, or pressure to “make the most of summer” can all affect your mental health.

A few small habits can make a big difference:
🌿 Keep a routine
📱 Limit social media when needed
🏃 Stay active
💧 Take care of your body
💙 Stay connected with people who support you
🎨 Make time for things that bring you joy
🫶 Be kind to yourself

Remember, you don’t have to go through difficult moments alone. If you’re struggling, reach out to a trusted adult, counselor, mental health professional, or someone you trust. Help is available, and asking for support is a sign of strength.
