The development of smart cities in both China and the United States has profound consequences on billions of people: the application of data can inform decisions in various aspects, and intelligent urbanization has brought more potential and challenges than ever before. By delving into the discussion about different focus areas of smart cities, this panel aims to provide analysis and prediction for the future trends and opportunities for students from technological, political, and economic perspectives. Michigan China Forum 2022 will be holding four academic-based panel discussions on March 25th, 26th and April 1st, 2nd - the Healthcare Panel, the Smart Cities Panel, the Finance Panel, and the Culture Panel. Each panel will be led by a group of students with extensive background in the relevant fields. By inviting experts from all across disciplines sharing their profound knowledge of the subject matters in their areas of expertise,  the audience will have the opportunity to learn and benefit from academic discussions and industry insights, as well as networking with guests from their interested fields. In the past, we have received positive feedback that these discussions have often generated job offers and research opportunities, further leading to collaborations in cross-cultural settings in the global context.
