Tim Lawrence has been a member of the Yaks Hockey organization for nearly 15 years. During that time, he's shared the ice with our C Team, D1 Team, and D2 Team in Ann Arbor. He's also been a regular at both our charity skate and our annual golf outing.
But hockey isn't what defines Tim.
Tim is simply one of the best people you'll ever meet. He's the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He's incredibly observant, too. You don't have to ask for help. He just notices... and then he acts.
Unfortunately, life sometimes puts challenges in front of good people that no family should have to face alone.
Tim and his family are living that reality right now. Their 12-year-old son, Daxten, has been diagnosed with bone cancer.
The Yaks aren't unfamiliar with moments like these. When one of our own is hurting, we take YAKtion.
A fundraiser has been started to help the Lawrence family.

Donations will help ease the burden of medical expenses, offset lost income while Tim and his wife focus on Daxten's treatment, and cover everyday expenses so they can spend their time where it belongs—with their son.
If you've ever been connected to the Yaks, please consider making a donation.
If you want to say "F*ck you" to cancer, please consider making a donation.
If you simply want to help a genuinely good family through the hardest fight of their lives, please consider making a donation.
If you're not in a position to give, please like and share this post. Every share helps more people see it, and that can make all the difference.
Thank you.
