The Rent-a-Rower program is a project in which University of Michigan Men's Rowing team members are hired by members of the community for yard work, cleaning, general labor etc. The money received from this work is put directly towards that rower's dues payment which helps the team cover travel and equipment costs.

Now that the team has arrived back in town and classes are starting, fall RARs are right around the corner! Due to our fall racing schedule, we have set dates that jobs will be available. I have listed these dates below and the times that jobs are available. To schedule a RAR please email [email protected] with the date and time, the number of rowers requested, your address, and a phone number. As a reminder it is $90 per rower for a 4 hour shift and we do not prorate jobs.

In case you need a job before then, we have rowers available most weekends we don't have a race between now and May. With warmer weather finally arriving, we will have the following dates available for our spring rent-a-rower program. When scheduling, be sure to specify the DATE, TIME, and NUMBER OF ROWERS, in addition to your NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER, and if possible, a short description of the type of work the rowers will be doing.

As the weather warms up I would like to bring to your attention the spring rent-a-rower dates and times. Shifts can be scheduled through Matt Herbers via email: [email protected] (preferred) or phone: (269)-589-9676. When contacting Matt please provide the DATE, TIME and NUMBER OF ROWERS you are requesting as well as your ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, and a brief description of the Rent-a-Rower. If you need to schedule a Rent-a-Rower at a time not listed below, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to arrange an alternate time.

April 30th, May 1st (10am-2pm)
Saturday, May 2nd (1-5pm)
Sunday, May 3rd (8am-12pm/1-5pm)
May 12th – May 15th (10am-2pm)
Saturday, May 16th (1-5pm)

May 26th and beyond (SUMMER SCHEDULE) The Rent-A-Rower program continues into the summer on a first come first serve basis. Contact [email protected] to schedule a rower after May 26th.
