Brahms and Dvořák shared a deep mutual respect and admiration, and their music reflects that connection in such a powerful way.

I am excited to be performing on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Kerrytown Concert House, featuring Brahms’s Piano Quartet No. 1 and Dvořák’s Piano Quartet No. 2 with the Casa Quartet. It is a special joy to collaborate with friends and outstanding musicians Mike Chen and David LeDoux from the Detroit Symphony, and Kazimierz Brzozowski, Professor of Piano at Wayne State.

Beethoven’s Violin and Piano Sonata No. 5 evokes spring through its blossoming melodies, while Brahms’s Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano is one of his most intimate works. Franck’s passionate violin sonata was written as a gift to Eugène Ysaÿe.

I am very excited to have been invited by Steinway artist Tomoko Mack to celebrate spring with her in an intimate concert at Steinway Gallery Detroit on March 28 at 2 pm, where we will perform these works. Please join us!

Telling stories chosen by composers is like finding messages in a bottle — each one carrying a world of emotion, memory, and meaning.
This Sunday, October 16 at 7:30 PM, join us at Kerrytown Concert House for a special evening of musical storytelling:
✨ Smetana — his deeply autobiographical First String Quartet
✨ Grigoriu — a tale of place and legend "On the River Arges"
✨ Pop — celebrating the rich cultural mix of Romania through music. And he will be there in person to tell you more about the piece.
Come discover the stories behind the notes.

With Heavy Hearts – Remembering Rob Conway
We at the American Romanian Festival are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Rob Conway.
Rob was an exceptional musician and a valued part of our festival family. Over the years, he joined us often—sharing his incredible talent, kindness, and love of music with our audiences and fellow performers. We are grateful for the time we had with him, and his memory will always be part of our community.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing him. He will be greatly missed.
