Happy National Trails Day! What better way to celebrate than a look back at last weekend's Bike, Bus, Scoot & Boogie? Between the live music, ice cream, cargo bikes, and bubble machines, there was plenty to love — but the highlight for us was connecting with community members who showed up with real curiosity and passion for the Treeline's future.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table, to A2Zero for repping the city's climate goals, and to Urban Rider Cargo Bikes for putting it all together!

The City Of Ann Arbor has been awarded $20,000 to purchase an all-terrain track chair, making select city parks more accessible to the disabled community starting this September.

This is what it looks like when a city invests in making the outdoors accessible to everyone — and it's the kind of progress we want to see reflected in the Treeline too.

The The City Of Ann Arbor - Government has been awarded $20,000 through the National Environmental Education Foundation’s 2026 Driving Mobility and Accessibility on Public Lands Grant. In partnership with the Disability Network Washtenaw Monroe Livingston and Leslie Science & Nature Center - LSNC and with support from TOYOTA and National Environmental Education Foundation - NEEF the City of Ann Arbor will be purchasing an all-terrain track chair to increase the accessibility of select city parks. The track chair will be available for no-cost rental by the general public and city staff aim to launch the no-cost rental program in September 2026.

Great news for anyone who relies on two wheels — whether for recreation or getting where they need to go. Belle Isle's new dedicated bike track will let cyclists loop the entire island without crossing a single vehicle lane. This is a big step forward for safe, car-free mobility in Southeast Michigan.

It's the kind of infrastructure that changes how people experience outdoor spaces and get around the community. The same principle drives everything we do at the Treeline.

Cyclists will soon have a smoother path to circle Detroit’s urban island, Belle Isle Park.

Starting this week, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will implement traffic circulation changes and complete a dedicated two-way bike lane on the island.

The Treeline is designed for more than just people. Native plantings along the corridor will support dozens of bee species — including some that are metallic green, some tinier than you'd imagine, and at least one that lays its eggs in other bees' nests.

Our blog breaks down 10 bee genera you might spot along the trail, written by pollinator expert David Cappaert for The Pollinator Partnership.
