Do you remember the unforgettable concert by Scholares Minores pro Musica Antiqua in Ann Arbor? 🎶

Watch this short interview with Amy Olszewski, conducted by Ania Kryczek, and hear the story behind the concert and about the determination, hard work, and dedication that made it possible.

Once again, a huge thank-you to the Polish Cultural Fund -Ann Arbor and the Polish-American Federal Credit Union for their financial support; Old St. Patrick Catholic Church for providing accommodations; and our wonderful AAPA and Polska Szkoła w Ann Arbor community for hosting, driving, feeding, and entertaining our guests.

Finally, we would like to recognize Alina Klin and Brian Malski from Friends of Polish Art, who organized and sponsored the fundraising campaign for the chartered bus. Without their support, the Michigan tour simply would not have been possible.

Wczoraj kolejny raz dzięki gościnności Agaty Dow mieliśmy okazję poznać Joasię i Władka Fuchs.

A całość została pięknie domknięta, niczym idealne koło, liczbą "22/7". 😊

Please join us for an evening with Joanna and Wladek Fuchs on September 13 at 6:00 p.m., hosted by Agata Dow.

Joanna and Wladek teach at the School of Architecture at the University of Detroit Mercy and lead the Volterra–Detroit Foundation, which organizes study-abroad programs for American students in the historic Italian town of Volterra.

They will share the remarkable story of the foundation and speak about the cultural inspirations and research into ancient Roman architecture that Volterra has inspired.

We hope you can join us for this fascinating presentation and an enjoyable evening together!

Dear Polonia Community,

Unfortunately, due to today’s weather forecast, including rain and thunderstorms, we have made the difficult decision to CANCEL today’s Annual Polonia Picnic at Dexter-Huron Metropark.

For everyone’s safety, the River Polonia Parade is also cancelled.

We are very sorry for the disappointment. We were really looking forward to spending the afternoon together, enjoying good food, Polish spirit, and our wonderful community.

Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe, and we hope to see you soon at another Polonia event!

River Polonia Parade

During the picnic, we are planning to organize a 30-minute raft float (River Polonia Parade) down the Huron River. We plan to float from the bridge in Dexter to the picnic site in Dexter-Huron Metropark. The parade will be led and organized by Wojciech Szeliga.

This short stretch of the river is very calm, without any rapids, and you can participate using any floating device (including an air mattress). The parade will start at 1:00 pm. The starting point is about a 10-minute drive upstream from the picnic site. We can provide transportation for participants, as long as their floating equipment is of an appropriate size. All interested participants are kindly asked to bring their own floating device, as well as flags, scarves, pennants, and other Polish-themed items to highlight the festive character of the parade.

Please note that all participants take part in all the events at their own risk.

We are really lucky to have so much happening right here in Ann Arbor around Polish studies and Polish culture. The Copernicus Center at the University of Michigan brings together lectures, events, research and many other activities, and they are right here in Ann Arbor!

The new 2026 issue of "Kopernikana" is a great way to see what’s been happening and what’s coming up. Take a look, you may find something you’d like to join or learn more about!
