Last Saturday, over 60 Peace Moms joined us for our 5th Annual Mother's Day Brunch to enjoy a delicious meal prepared by Foodies Catering and a special keynote from guest speaker Yodit Mesfin Johnson - who gave a powerful and affirming ode to generations of Black Women. Political leaders, civil rights activists, writers, poets. . . and great grandmothers "who cooked from nothing and created abundance". She gave a special nod to Black mothers today who continue to "mother beyond bloodlines" and work to hold their communities together.

On behalf of the entire Peace Family, we would like to wish all Mom's a Happy Mother's Day and thank you for the important role that you play in your children's lives, and in our wider community!

It was a fun-filled theatre week for Peace Kids! Last weekend, Bonnie and a small group of Peace Staff and kids got to see two Peace high school students take the stage for Skyline High School Theatre's production of Cinderella! Both Senior Kwesi Kwayke, as Sebastian, Prince Topher's faithful protector, and Sophomore Zelaya Ryans, as the sassy step-sister, were outstanding!

Then, on Tuesday evening, Bonnie and Oona took six Peace High School kids to downtown Detroit to see Hamilton at the historic Fisher Theatre, expanding their lens on possibilities of careers in the performing arts.
