Lunch Box Donation Request

We are excited to share that we have been given a wonderful opportunity through the City of Ann Arbor’s summer camp program. Ten of our children have been selected to attend camp free of charge, which is truly a blessing. This experience will bring them so much joy, allowing them to make new friends, play, and create lasting memories.

To help them fully participate, we are hoping to provide each child with a lunch box. Having their own lunch box will make them feel prepared, confident, and included alongside their peers.

We kindly ask for your support in donating 10 lunch boxes for these children. Thursday will be the last day of this donation.

Your generosity will directly impact their camp experience and happiness. If you are able to help, please reach out to us. We deeply appreciate your kindness and support for our children.

Thank you for helping us make this summer special! I HN Alpha House.

Trish Cortes, Executive Director of Community Mental Health, “We’re now seeing homelessness in places in the county that we never have,” she said. “We’re getting called from every corner of the county.”

As Ann Arbor grapples with rising homelessness and associated mental health challenges, downtown restaurant and store owners have been expressing growing concerns it's impacting their businesses.

We are incredibly blessed to have the support of a dedicated network of churches, community groups, and individuals who spend many hundreds of hours a year making sure that our facilities and our grounds express our values. When one has a beautiful, welcoming place to call home, even temporarily, it helps one to feel valued, cherished, and safe.

A special thank you to Mary Robinson, Diane Knibbs, and the Dexter Garden Club for taking on this labor of love ❤️
A special thank you also goes out to Ms. Susan and Ms. Victoria who consistently pour everything into serving Alpha House. It takes a village! 🧡

"RED" Day is Keller William’s annual day of giving back. Every May, agents, leaders, and associates step away from their daily business duties at KW and venture out into their communities to Renew, Energize, and Donate. They've been doing this since 2009!

One lovely group of KW associates came to Alpha House West on May 14th and spent the entire morning cleaning walls, wiping windows, and organizing donations. They also brought lunch for the families at Alpha House! We are incredibly grateful for these volunteers and their passion for community improvement. Thank you all so much!"

When one takes the time to care for their body, your mood improves. When your mood improves and your nervous system regulates, you are better able to think clearly and plan. When you’re thinking clearly and you feel good about yourself and your appearance, success soon follows.
Thank you to Ms. Alethia Battles, Ms. Kathy Wyatt and the lovely ladies from the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for collecting self-care supplies for our families. You are a blessing! 🧡

“Demand quickly outpaced the center’s intended capacity, with Rev. Faith Fowler, executive director of Cass Community Social Services, saying many of the guests have faced mental and physical illness, substance use challenges, and other crises, with seniors and children disproportionately represented.”

A Detroit drop-in center for unhoused residents has seen demand far exceed expectations, according to Cass Community. It has served 2,874 people, including nearly 1,000 children and youth.
