It’s finally time! 💜🏓

We are having a blast at our 2026 Pickleball Mixer! We can’t thank everyone enough for showing up, participating in the raffle, enjoying some great food, hitting the courts, and bringing the energy. And there is still so much more to come!

As this AMAZING night kicks off…we must shoutout our team without whom this event (or any of the work we do at The Women’s Center) wouldn’t be possible. THANK YOU to our kind, hardworking, generous, and truly unbelievably wonderful staff and volunteers. We are so grateful to have a team of amazing clinicians and professionals who have become less like colleagues and more like family! ✨

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Domestic violence affects people in every community, and behind every statistic is a person who deserves to feel safe, believed, and supported.

In 2024, 67,414 domestic violence incidents were reported to law enforcement in Michigan. That number represents thousands of moments when someone needed safety, support, and a way forward.

Domestic violence isn't always physical. It can include emotional abuse, financial control, sexual coercion, stalking, threats, intimidation, and other patterns used to control a partner.

This month, let's do more than raise awareness. Let's:

💜 Listen without judgment
💜 Learn the signs of abuse
💜 Check in on the people we care about
💜 Share resources
💜 Support organizations working to create safer communities

At The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel heard, supported, and empowered. Our mission is to help women, girls, families, and people across the gender spectrum build economic and emotional health through counseling, education, and support.

Our services include accessible mental health counseling, support groups, career coaching, financial coaching, parenting support, and education around divorce, family law, and financial wellness. We work to make these resources accessible regardless of income or insurance status.

Because sometimes what someone needs most is simply a place where they can say, “I’m struggling,” and know they won't be judged.

Rain couldn’t stop this community from showing up for hope. 💙☔️

The Women’s Center was honored to participate in the Washtenaw Walk for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) Michigan Chapter at Rolling Hills County Park in Ypsilanti.

A heartfelt thank you to every participant and volunteer who braved the pouring rain and shared your stories, your time, your courage, and your hope. Events like this remind us that no one has to navigate their hardest moments alone and that when we come together, we can create a community where reaching out for support is met with compassion, understanding, and care.

We’re grateful to stand alongside so many people committed to spreading awareness, breaking the stigma around su***de, and reminding our community that hope is always worth showing up for. 💙

Rain or shine, we showed up! ☔️💗

Despite the non-stop rain, we had such a wonderful time at the Community Resource Fair at the Ypsilanti Farmers Market, hosted by Growing Hope! 🌱

We loved meeting more members of our community, sharing what The Women’s Center has to offer, and talking about our affordable, accessible counseling services, including both sliding-scale and insurance-based options. 💕🌈
