Neighbors of Orchard Hills & Maplewood, You’re Invited!
Election season is upon us, and it’s time to look at the future of our community. Please join your neighbors for a structured debate and candidate forum for the Ann Arbor Mayor and Ward 2 City Council races.
This is your opportunity to listen as the candidates outline their platforms and answer pre-submitted questions that matter most to our neighborhood—from housing and local infrastructure to sustainability. Following the formal forum, stick around for an open meet-and-greet where you can chat with the candidates directly!
Event Overview
• When: Sunday, July 19th | 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• Where: Traverwood Library
• Who: Open to all residents of Orchard Hills, Maplewood, and the surrounding Ward 2 community.
Forum Agenda
We have a full afternoon planned to ensure we dive deep into the issues:
• Welcome & Introductions
• Mayoral Forum (~1 hour): Featuring Yousef Rabhi and Chris Taylor
• Ward 2 Council Forum (~1 hour): Featuring Sandy Aldrich and Teesha Montague
• Open Meet-and-Greet & Wrap-Up: A casual chance to speak with the candidates one-on-one.

To respect everyone's time and ensure we cover the most important topics during the formal debate, we will not be accepting live questions from the floor.
We want to make sure your specific concerns are addressed, so please use our community survey to submit your questions in advance. We will aggregate these into a comprehensive list for the candidates to answer during their time on stage.

The Orchard Hills-Maplewood Homeowners Association (OHMHA) will hold its Annual Meeting Tomorrow, June 3rd, at OHAC Pool
The Orchard Hills-Maplewood Homeowners Association (OHMHA) will hold its annual meeting on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 7 pm at the Orchard Hills Athletic Club (OHAC) pool area.
Our speaker this year will be Michigan State Senator Sue Shink. Sue has represented the 14th District, which includes Washtenaw and Jackson counties, in the State Senate since 2022. She serves as chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and the Appropriations, Corrections, and Judiciary Subcommittee. Prior to her service in the State Senate, she served on the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners. She holds undergraduate, master's, and law degrees from the University of Michigan.
Sue and her husband, Tom, live on a farm just north of us in Northfield Township. Please join us to learn more from Sue about matters before the state senate that will affect our
neighborhood, city, and state as a whole.

In case of bad weather, a Zoom link will be emailed out prior to the meeting. However, so far, the weather looks perfect!
