Attention Elk alumni! On this 30th anniversary year of Black Elk Cooperative, we are hosting a get-together on the morning of April 10th to share memories and reconnect with old friends and so forth. Greetings from the Elk. It is with a mixture of sadness, happiness, and contrived nostalgia that we say goodbye to this here range. She was by far the oldest in the ICC; at over 40 years of age, she pre-dated Black Elk. Her ovens were faulty, her burners were sketch, and you could never clean the griddle properly. But she endured and we took good care, keeping the flame alive and Elkers fed for generations. And now, by the great generosity of ICC's maintenance budget, we will have a glorious new one and our cooking will reach splendid heights!
