In Minneapolis, a former warehouse has been transformed into Avivo Village—an indoor community with 100 private “tiny homes” for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
Residents receive much more than a place to sleep.
The village provides access to housing support, mental-health services, substance-use treatment, medical care and employment assistance, all in one place.
And the goal isn’t simply to keep people indoors.
It’s to help them move into permanent housing.
Since opening in December 2020, Avivo reported that 339 residents had moved into permanent housing by July 2026.
A private space.
A safe place to sleep.
Support when it’s needed.
Sometimes solving a difficult problem starts with giving people a place where they can finally begin again.
