JFS of Washtenaw County All services are rendered on a non-sectarian basis. JFS is a prolific nonprofit agency that serves everyone in Washtenaw County.

Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County (JFS) is a mission-driven non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization that provides a wide range of social services offered to all residents of Washtenaw County. JFS is the only refugee resettlement agency in the county and offers myriad support services to individuals and families from all walks of life. JFS also offers professional development courses throughout the year, which provide Licensed Social Workers in attendance with Continuing Education Units. 🥕 $10,000 invested in fighting food insecurity in Washtenaw County!

We’re grateful to Kroger for a generous $10,000 investment in JFS Nourish Nutrition Services, helping us provide nutritious food, prepared meals, and dignity to neighbors throughout our community.

And this support comes as Nourish approaches an incredible milestone: 50,000 meals prepared and served through the Shalom Kitchen since production began in 2025!

That’s in addition to the nearly 17,000 individuals who rely on the Nourish Pantry each year for grocery assistance.

This is what strong community partnership looks like: businesses and nonprofits coming together to make sure our neighbors have access to the food and support they need to thrive.

And we’re just getting started. Kroger and JFS are exploring ways for Kroger associates to get directly involved through volunteering and other community activities.
