Overprint. New Jersey officials wanted a Battle of Monmouth commemorative in 1928 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the battle. The Post Office said no. They had reached their quota for the year. After some discussion this overprint was the solution. Molly Pitcher was the nickname of a heroic woman who took over cannon loading after her husband died.
