"Walking emerged as the dominant alternative transportation method in Ann Arbor, with 13% of commuters traveling to work on foot — the third-highest share among all cities analyzed. That figure nearly doubles the 7.2% of residents who commute by public transportation, which ranked 16th nationally.
"Biking also factored into Ann Arbor’s strong showing, with 2.1% of commuters using bicycles to reach work, ranking eighth among the cities studied. The city earned a Bike Score of 71, ranking seventh, supported by on-street bike lanes and 35.3 miles of shared-use paths."
