CHS would like to join Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Michigan (OLLI) in congratulating Gloria Edwards on receiving the Senior Regional Collaborative's I Am Senior Strong (IASS) Award, which recognizes the outstanding volunteer contributions of older adults throughout Southeast Michigan.

At 91 years young, Gloria continues to make a remarkable impact through her leadership, service, and dedication to the community. A respected educator, advocate, mentor, and friend to many, Gloria retired after nearly 60 years of service to the University of Michigan and Michigan Medicine, where she founded the Program for Multicultural Health, a program that continues to serve the community today.

Gloria's volunteer leadership includes serving as a founding member of the Turner African American Services Council - TAASC, a Member-at-Large and Membership Pillar Champion on OLLI's Leadership Council, founder of the African American Cultural & Historical Museum of Washtenaw County, volunteer with the The Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan, and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, and The Links, Incorporated.

We are proud to celebrate Gloria's many accomplishments and grateful for the time, talent, and wisdom she continues to share with OLLI and the broader community.
