Building Up: Partnering in Health and Wholeness In September 2018 a team from Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor traveled to Uganda. Wells have been dug in Sayyi and at the site of the health clinic.

The mission of BUILDING UP is to secure and connect resources with local and global entities to develop sustainable healthcare, wellness and educational programs developing thriving communities of wholeness. It was a life transforming experience that inspired a group from Ann Arbor, MI to raise money for various projects to improve the health and wellbeing of the Sayyi community. Building Up: Partnering in Health and Wellness began out of a project to raise money for a health clinic, and the ideas began to grow into more than this ambitious fundraising project. The clinic ( ) will provide the community with nearby healthcare, dental clinics, and education in health and wellness. Another project, Soles for Souls: Uganda Style, will teach them to produce shoes to protect their feet from worms. Our partnership with the people of Sayyi, Stone and Compass, and other organizations will provide internship opportunities and future projects that will lead to a future of health, wholeness, and sustainability.

We currently have a team in Uganda hosting several days of clinics at the Tsiyon Family Hospital and doing outreach in the community.

Creating a welcoming environment by offering toys for kids and providing for other basic needs is an important part of our mission. It makes healthcare less scary and the hospital feel more accessible and relevant.
