Veterinary Assistant & Veterinary Technicians (Full Time/Part time)
Most needed is Full Time starting at 7:30am.

The Spay Station is searching for an Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technicians to add to our team to get our clinic open! The Spay Station is 501c3 organization located in North Central West Virginia (Anmoore). We will serve clients in north central West Virginia. This clinic is desperately needed so that spay/neuter is more accessible to everyone. With the addition of this clinic in our community, more animals will get spayed or neutered ensuring a decrease in the influx of animals to our local shelters and rescue groups every year.

Responsibilities:
Checking in animals for spay/neuter surgeries (Office Manager and Support Staff)
Checking out animals after spay/neuter surgeries (Office Manager & Support Staff)
Helping prep animals for surgery
Monitoring animals in Post Op
Performing select wellness services including but not limited to: vaccinations, nail trims, ear cleanings, microchipping, and SNAP blood tests. (Office Manager & Support Staff)
Light housekeeping of kennels/lobby areas (Office Manager & Support Staff).

Requirements:
Valid driver’s license/ reliable transportation
High school diploma or equivalent - Previous animal experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to lift 40+ pounds

The Spay Station is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing the unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of cats and dogs caused by overpopulation and preventable disease. We are seeking veterinarians to join our new, high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic serving north central West Virginia.

The demand for affordable services is overwhelming, and our work directly reduces shelter intake and euthanasia rates across the region.

Schedule Options



Full-Time: Four days per week or Five Days per week (variable)

Part-Time: Flexible scheduling available

Relief: Per diem shifts available

No holidays

No on-call responsibilities



Key Responsibilities



Perform thorough pre-surgical physical examinations

Administer and oversee pre-surgical medications and anesthesia protocols

Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries (up to 40 dogs and cats per day)

Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Supervise surgical staff and veterinary assistants

Assist with documentation and management of clinic policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with West Virginia Veterinary Board and AVMA standards



Qualifications



Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university

Licensed or eligible for licensure in West Virginia

Commitment to reducing companion and community animal overpopulation

Strong decision-making and communication skills

Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills

Compassionate, team-oriented mindset

Commitment to practicing high-quality medicine and upholding veterinary ethics



Preferred but Not Required:



Experience in high-volume spay/neuter surgery

Background or interest in shelter medicine
