While we are growing, the lacrosse community across Iowa is still small. We compete against each other during the season, but it is on all of us to help grow the game.

That's the case with these two 2026 All Stars. Lis Fee from Kingfisher convinced her cousin to try lacrosse. He played for Ankeny this spring.

So as we head into summer, keep recruiting!

Last weekend was a great weekend for lacrosse in Iowa! The ILAX State Championship is always a great chance for the Iowa lax community to come together for competition and camaraderie!

We want to thank the volunteers, officials, coaches, players and parents for all the support to make this tournament (and our whole season!) a success!

A special congratulations to 10U girls team, 10U Gold boys team and High School boys for earning a championship spot in their brackets, 14U Boys for earning second, and a shoutout to the Girls Varsity team which included some of our Ankeny varsity girls!

All of our teams played so hard and gave it their all and we could not be more proud of our Thunder Lacrosse players!

Today we also would like to recognize Larae Ramsey and Carson Klongan - Ankeny recipients of the inaugural Austin Turner Leadership Award.

The Austin Turner Leadership Awards recognize male and female athletes from Iowa high school teams. These individuals were selected by their respective clubs because they are leaders on and off the field, holding themselves and their teammates to high standards of sportsmanship while also excelling on the field and in the classroom.

This annual Leadership Award is named after and celebrates the life of former lacrosse player and coach, Austin Turner, who passed away in 2025. “A.T.” as he was known to his teammates, coaches, and friends, was a valued member of the West Des Moines Lacrosse Club where he both played and coached for the Tigers program.

We’re so proud to recognize Carson Klonglan for being selected for 1st team All-State for NELAX!

An absolute field general and team player. No task was ever too big for Carson this year, and his eagerness never wavered. Carson would play both sides of the field and be dominate on both. He finishes his senior campaign with 32 G's, 20 A's, 43 GB's, and 8 FTO's. A leader in everyway, and a role-model for future players of this program. The future is very bright and we can't wait to see the things you accomplish!🔥

We’re so proud to recognize Luther Nelson for being selected for 1st team All-State for NELAX!

Luther has been a force for us all season in net. Some people might mistake him for an actual brick wall, but turns out - he's human! Luther finishes his senior campaign with a staggering 71.9% SVPN and 169 SVN's. This is also Luther's second time securing 1st team for goalie in NELAX! What a career, Luther will continue to do big things in the future.👏
