The Butterfly Fund

The Butterfly Fund The Butterfly Fund Special toys and equipment are expensive and are not always paid for by insurance, waiver programs, or Medicaid.

We know that it is very hard for many parents to provide for the needs of their special children, and even harder to find money for “nice to have” extras. But these items can make a huge difference in a child’s life and in the lives of the families who want so much to give their children anything that will help them. We want all special children to have the chance to do as much as they can and to

live as normally as possible. We want families to be able to play and talk with their children in whatever way works best for them. As a way to honor Jess’ memory, we have created The Butterfly Fund to help families pay for special equipment. Your support will make it possible for The Butterfly Fund to continue providing assistance to families in our area. We continually receive letters from children and their families who have benefited from The Fund thanking us for the impact it has had on their lives. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of these special children and their families!

So happy The Butterfly Fund was able to help!!

Big Day for the Cospers! Thanks to the The Butterfly Fund and Blank Children's Hospital C**t received a seizure alert bracelet. The Empatica Embrace 2 is the only FDA approved seizure monitoring device. They are expensive, and definitely something we would not normally be able to afford, so we are very grateful for this gift. 💙❤️💙❤️
C**t has a high amount of big convulsive seizures. This along with his type of Epilepsy plus the fact that he has issues with breathing during seizures and many nocturnal seizures puts him at the highest risk for SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in Epilepsy.) As you can imagine, this is terrifying for us. Being at such a high risk for SUDEP also means someone needs to be with him at all times, especially while he’s sleeping. This bracelet will send alerts to our phone and to my watch as soon as he starts having a convulsive seizure. Although we will still always be close by, and do whatever it takes to keep our boy alive, this will allow us a little bit of flexibility by being in a different room after he’s asleep, or letting him play in his bedroom without someone needing to always be next to him. This will be a game changer for our family, and allow him a little bit of independence as he’s getting older. We are so very blessed, and very much appreciative of the Buttetfly Fund for helping families with special needs children receive equipment that helps make their daily lives better each day. 💙❤️🦋
