We don't just attend the Iowa State Fair... We make a splash! (Cue dad joke drum sound🥁) Thank you Iowa Department of Natural Resources for inviting us to present our gameshow, "Rain Check" at your DNR main stage. We had a blast and we think these fair goers did, too. Watch out for these duck huntin' ladies!!! 🦆

This is huge news for Iowa agriculture! The Iowa Department of Ag just announced an expansion of the Iowa Working Lands program -- $1.5 million more in funds, 22 new counties, and two new positions to help farmers!

The Great Outdoors Foundation is sponsoring this week’s CWISH broadcast tomorrow, live from the Great Outdoors Foundation office in West Des Moines. The show runs from 11 am – 1 pm and centers on Athene Watershed26 and the Shared Action Plan that came out of it.

Want to be a social butterfly? Don't follow the advice of the silver-spotted skipper:

💩As a caterpillar, they can throw excrement about 38 body lengths away from them to deter predators.
Wait, that's not all.
🤮They vomit a pungent, green chemical (also to keep others away).
🌼They don't like yellow flowers.
🍯And they steal from men. They feed on nectar from the male part of the flower without touching the female part, so no pollination.

Just think... If you had butterfly habitat like prairie or wetlands on your farm, you could share these fun facts with your neighbor when you spot a silver-spotted skipper! We can't promise you'll still be friends, though.
