We are so grateful to Casee Woodley and the 515 Connect women’s group for the opportunity to share the mission and heart behind Amadora Legacy Project and talk about the impact legacy storytelling can have for individuals and families facing life-limiting illness.

Every conversation helps more people understand that every life story deserves to be remembered, shared, and preserved.

This Memorial Day, we’re honoring the incredible stories of Central Iowa veterans. 🇺🇸

We’ve had the true honor of recording the life stories of veterans like Bill, a and hero facing a life-limiting illness whose legacy of service, family, bravery, and humility is now saved forever for future generations.

Many of our local heroes receive care through the VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS). We want to ensure every Central Iowa veteran and military family in their network knows veterans with life-limiting illnesses can record their life stories and memories with us, completely free.

Like many in our Central Iowa community, Doug was impacted with , a life-limiting illness. He wanted to make sure his grandkids would grow up knowing how much he loved his family and learned more about the life he led.

We had the honor of filming Doug’s legacy video. It was a beautiful walk down memory lane, remembering an amazing life full of trials and tribulations, memories, and lessons.

At Amadora, we are honored to support the communities served by The ALS Association 𝗜𝗼𝘄𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿, HDSA Iowa Chapter, and other organizations that support individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses. While these organizations provide vital support and advocacy, we will continue our mission to give voice to their life stories.

We know you go above and beyond to support the families in your care. At Amadora Legacy Project, we want to help you provide that “extra mile” of emotional support.

We provide guided, professionally crafted legacy videos at 𝙣𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩 to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, such as stage IV cancer, ALS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, early-stage Alzheimer’s, and those actively enrolled in hospice. There is no cost to participants and no process nor paperwork burden to you.

Doug was a husband, brother, father, and grandfather who built a life full of hard work and loyalty — mowing yards at seven, running his own company for 45 years, and loving his wife as a true partner by his side through every season. Even as he faced ALS, his faith never wavered nor did his love for a perfectly timed joke. That’s the legacy he leaves behind.
