“When I think about Brandon, the first thing that comes to mind is the way he moved through the world. Laid back. Present. Unshaken by the things that usually rattled me. He’d tell us, ‘𝙆𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤… 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪.’ Simple words that have become our family’s guidepost.

He believed in showing up, loving people well, and letting the rest unfold. He valued relationships more than anything you could buy and taught our kids that the real wealth in life is found in the people you walk through it with.

Before we lost him, we had the chance to record his legacy video with Amadora. Hearing his voice again… the way he talked about what mattered, the way he encouraged the kids to stay true to themselves… it’s a gift.

That’s why it was an easy “yes” to becoming an 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿 for their Father’s Day campaign through June 30. I want other families to have what we have: a way to hold onto the words, wisdom, and love of someone they never want to forget.

We’re halfway through our Father’s Day Ambassador Campaign — and our ambassadors are doing incredible work.

Together, they’ve already raised $8,531, bringing us closer to funding 10 new legacy videos for families who want to preserve the stories, voices, and wisdom of the people they love.

To celebrate Father’s Day, we asked our community to share a “Legacy Lesson” from a father or father-figure. Today’s comes from Kara: “My grandpa was my softball coach, and life coach. Both on the field and in life, he always told me “Nothing high, nothing low, nothing outside.” Always keep it to the straight sweet spot. It’s stuck with me for 25+ years.”

“‘𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧.’ I didn’t know those words would become one of the most important mottos Cory ever taught us.

He said them during a tough season — before any diagnosis, before hospital rooms, before we understood how much we'd need them.

After he got sick, those three words became our way of moving through every hard moment.

They showed up in the small things: Playing Catch 365 with our boys, even from a hospital bed. Bedtime prayers and late-night talks. An air mattress on the floor so none of us had to sleep alone. Christmas lights and baking days that reminded us who we were.

And then came the moment I feared most: asking Cory to record a legacy video. I was scared. It felt too real. But I knew I'd regret not having his voice for our kids. So, I asked.

And he said yes.

I'm sharing our story as one of 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮'𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀 because ‘Handle hard better’ didn't just get us through, it became part of who we are.

In honor of their dads, grandpas, and father figures, families who’ve received our legacy videos – and those who support our mission – are stepping forward to help more families record the stories, voices, and wisdom they never want to lose. Their goal? Fund 10 legacy videos in 30 days.
