🚗✨ HISTORIC CARS ARE ROLLING INTO ANGOLA! ✨🚗

We have a pretty special sight coming to Angola TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 2!

As part of the annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival Hoosier Tour, approximately 30 classic automobiles from 1905–1935 will make a stop in our community — and the public is invited to come see them! 🙌

The Hoosier Tour gives Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg owners the chance to get these incredible pieces of automotive history out on the road while visiting communities and unique destinations throughout the area.

📍 TRINE UNIVERSITY | 3:15–5:30 PM
The cars will arrive on campus around 3:15–3:30 PM, where they'll be on display while participants enjoy their visit to Trine.

🏛️ DOWNTOWN ANGOLA | APPROX. 5:30 PM
Then comes our favorite part! As the tour departs Trine for Pokagon State Park, the cars will cruise through Downtown Angola and around the Monument. Find a spot downtown and watch this incredible collection roll through the heart of our community!

Whether you're a lifelong car enthusiast, a history lover, or just looking for something fun and different to do, this is a sight you don't get to see every day.

🌟 ANGOLA IS REPRESENTING INDIANA! 🌟

We already know there’s something pretty special about our community — but we love when the rest of the country notices, too! 💙

AFAR has named Angola the most charming small town in Indiana in its newly updated The Most Charming Small Town in Every U.S. State feature! 🇺🇸

From our beautiful lakes and Pokagon State Park to Trine University and the historic streets of Downtown Angola, the article highlights many of the things that make our corner of Northeast Indiana such a special place to visit, live, work and explore.
And we’re especially proud to see Historic Maumee Street and our downtown businesses included in the spotlight. 🏛️🛍️
Recognition like this is also a reminder of why investing in our downtown matters.
Angola is home to a nationally accredited Main Street organization, part of a nationwide movement focused on strengthening downtowns through historic preservation, economic vitality, thoughtful development, community partnerships, events, public spaces and support for the small businesses that give a place its character. Angola Main Street has held National Accreditation through Main Street America since 2024.
The charm people experience when they visit Downtown Angola isn't the work of any one organization or person. It's the result of business and building owners who invest here, community partners who believe in downtown, volunteers who show up, residents who shop and dine locally, and years of intentional work to keep the heart of our community thriving.

A bookstore is coming to historic downtown Angola! 📚 Opening day is tomorrow! Also tomorrow is Trine Fest, from 12 to 4 PM.

Wow, tomorrow is the day that we will open our doors for the first time. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for the encouragement we have received from our friends, family, building neighbors, and others in the community. Thank you. 🥰

Have you ever driven through a community and noticed the faces of veterans and service members proudly displayed from downtown light poles?

The Hometown Heroes Banner Program has become a tradition in communities across America — but its roots trace back nearly 20 years.

One of the earliest Hometown Heroes programs began in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as a grassroots effort to make sure the sacrifices of our military members were never forgotten. What started as a way to publicly recognize those who served and sacrificed grew into a movement, with towns and cities across the country proudly displaying the names and faces of their own hometown heroes.

Here in Angola, we're proud to carry on that tradition. ❤️🤍💙

Angola Main Street is accepting applications for our 4th Annual Hometown Hero Banner Program, giving families and community members the opportunity to honor a special veteran or service member with a banner displayed proudly in Downtown Angola.

But this program is about even more than the banners.

🇺🇸 It keeps the stories of our local veterans visible in our community.

🇺🇸 It fills our downtown with a powerful display of community pride and gratitude.

🇺🇸 And each year, we bring veterans, families, sponsors and community members together for our FREE Hometown Heroes Veterans Breakfast — another opportunity to say thank you to the men and women behind the banners.

Every banner represents a person.
Every person has a story.
And every story deserves to be remembered. 🇺🇸

Orders are NOW OPEN for the 2026–27 Hometown Heroes banners!
