This past Friday, Junior Firefighter Katelynn participated in the annual Junior Firefighter night at the Cheektowaga Training Towers, where training topics included hose line advancement, forcible entry and firefighter survival skills. Katelynn did a great job!

Our juniors recently engaged in training sessions focused on escape techniques, utilizing training props to enhance their knowledge and practice in safely exiting hazardous situations.

On the evening of August 20th, the junior members participated in a training session with the department, focusing on hose deployment, water supply, and water management techniques.

The junior program conducts training sessions in conjunction with the department every Wednesday. Individuals aged 14-18 who are interested in joining are encouraged to contact us or visit any Wednesday evening at 18:30.

At the Brant fest waterball, our juniors formed a team with Angola Vol. Fire Department fire members. Despite not securing a win, we greatly appreciated the experience. We are excited about participating again next year. Angola Vol. Fire Department

Tonight the Angola JR's participated in a training exercise involving hydrant operations, hose line advancement and water ball skills in preparation for their rematch against Seneca Fire next Tuesday. In addition to these skills, they practiced movement, communication techniques and seeing the difference between using a smooth bore vs a combination nozzle at different PSI. For a little fun they also practiced aiming with a nozzle under pressure by hitting cones set up!

The junior firefighters engaged in a waterball training session last night, which emphasized hose control, nozzle control, hose advancement, and teamwork-based communication. Throughout the night, the juniors demonstrated perseverance, competing head-to-head against each other and teams from CIRVFD Fire/Rescue , with the ultimate goal of using the hose to maneuver an elevated object to their opponents side.

We appreciate Seneca Fire's support in hosting and working with our juniors.
