Seed collection season is upon us! 🌱

Join us this Sunday, June 14th, from 10-1, at Badger Barrens to collect seed from Sundial Lupine!

The seed collected will go towards our Nasby prairie restoration in Pigeon River Fish and Wildlife area. We will provide gloves and buckets, so all you will need are shoes you don’t mind getting dirty and a water bottle!

We hope to see you there! 😁

❗️This event is cancelled due to weather❗️

Help us improve Badger Barrens!
An invasive species has invaded one of the recent additions to our Badger Barrens property, and we need your help to remove it! 🌱

Please join us this Saturday, from 10-12, at Badger Barrens Nature Preserve to hand pull hairy vetch from a 3.5 acre area! We will provide gardening gloves, so all you have to bring is yourself, some comfortable shoes, and a smile! 😁

Please comment on this post or message us if you plan on attending.

We hope to see you out there this weekend! ☀️

📢 We are asking for assistance from someone in our community! 📢

We're thrilled to be welcoming a summer intern, Ellasyn, to our team, and we're reaching out to our community for help with one important piece: finding her a place to stay.

We still have not secured a place for Ellasyn to stay, and she starts at the beginning of June.

If you have a spare room available this summer, or know someone who might, we'd love to hear from you. And if housing isn't an option, please share this post. Message us or drop a comment below to get connected. Thanks!

It’s lupine season!! I know many of you in our community have been enjoying the Sundial Lupine at Badger Barrens, and the deer have been too! Last year, a hungry herd of deer ate most of the flower spikes off of the lupine, and they are back at it again. If you want to experience the beauty of a barrens ecosystem in full bloom, please come visit before the native wildlife makes it their dinner!

This is a great activity for Mother’s Day weekend, so hurry out before the blooms are gone!

The weather is getting warmer, which means it’s time to visit our Badger Barrens Nature Preserve! Sundial Lupine season is headed into full swing, and you do not want to miss this spectacular sight right here in your own community. Peak bloom time will occur around May 9th, just in time for Mother’s Day! These blooms should last about 3 weeks, so make sure you visit before it’s too late.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended our open house, and to all of the generous donors who helped us exceed our $10,000 goal!

Thanks to our incredibly generous community, we were able to DOUBLE our original $10,000 goal, raising a total of $21,606 during our open house event! We are truly so grateful to our community for coming together to help our humble non-profit during this time of change and growth.

At the start of this journey to build a new office, we owed a whopping $174,100. We have raised over $100,000, leaving us with a $55,000 debt. We cannot thank our donors enough for pulling together to make this happen. We are so humbled by the generosity of our community.
