At our last meeting we updated our board, three that were on the board 10yrs thought it was a good idea to change things up. Going forward we will try to update the board at least every 3yrs. The trail crew will start removing lake trail markers when they begin to fall over from the sun.

Only the Eagles are enjoying the ice heaves. The trail crew went and inspected our most used trails from Driftwood Point to the NWA today. The trail from 4 blocks to the Black Trail (east/west) trail has an ice heave that has not settled yet. We thought this area deserved more than a caution sign so we marked this 1 mile section of trail with a Trail Closed sign. If you must use this trail, we suggest following the ice heave to Oak Island as you get near the shore it’s easy to cross over to the other side of the ice heave. We have snow in the forecast tomorrow.

Yesterday we had a high of 55° F and it rained for an hour last night. Now it’s starting to cool off again. It would be wise to have a snowmobile with a radiator or scratchers. And daytime only travel at slower speeds (25mph) until we get more snow.

The next four days are going to be above freezing. It’s currently misting . We are predicting our lake trail network to degrade and make riding sloppier, but there is some cold weather behind this.
