Happy Tuesday from Olaf and Boom 💛 They got a visit yesterday from their chiro/acupuncture provider and are feeling all the benefits!

Acupuncture and chiropractic work aren’t just “extras”, they’re part of keeping our therapeutic horses comfortable, balanced, and able to do what they do best.

These horses give so much, physically and mentally, adjusting to every rider, every wobble, every moment. That kind of work adds up.

Regular bodywork helps relieve soreness, improve mobility, and support proper alignment so they can stay patient, safe, and happy in their roles.

Because when Olaf feels good and Boom is moving right, they’re not just doing their jobs… they’re thriving in them. And our riders feel that difference every single ride! 🐴

Thank you Blades McKnight for helping our horses feel their best and giving us the knowledge and tools we need to keep them comfortable and happy!

Celebrating World Laughter Day the best way we know how, kids building confidence, horses doing their quiet magic, and laughter that comes from feeling safe, brave, and just a little bit silly 🐴💛

🐴✨ Happy National Volunteer Week! ✨🐴

At Walk in My Shoes Therapeutic Riding, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. From leading horses to cheering on riders (and occasionally negotiating with a horse who has other plans), they make every lesson possible.

Because of them, our riders build confidence, strength, and independence in ways that truly matter.

💛 To our volunteers, thank you for showing up, stepping in, and making a difference every single lesson. We couldn’t do this without you.

Huge thank you to our amazing volunteers this weekend 💛

We loved having some new faces out, welcome Chase and Daniela, and so happy to have Christiona back for her second time. And Connor, it’s been a while but we’re so glad you made it back out!
We truly couldn’t do this without you guys. The horses, riders, and entire program appreciate you more than you know

We’re looking to grow our volunteer team 🤍

We’re currently seeking leaders (13+) with significant horse experience — this means:
• 1–2+ years of riding, lessons, or hands-on work
• Comfortable handling and reading horse behavior
• Able to groom, tack/untack
• Confident leading horses of all sizes
• Able to stay calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations

This role is primarily weekends, but it doesn’t have to be every weekend, we’d just love to have more experienced hands on deck to support our riders and horses.

Our biggest need is definitely for experienced leaders, but don’t let that stop you, if you want to be involved and don’t have horse experience yet, we can still use you in other roles!

Please note our location is in Angier, NC, so make sure that’s a reasonable distance for you to travel.

If you’re passionate about horses and want to make a meaningful impact, this is such a special place to be 🤍

Feel free to message with any questions!
