We’d like to introduce Paris and Soko! They arrived yesterday and are settling in well. They have been without a herd for a bit, but we think they’re going to fit right in! Welcome to the family Soko and Paris! 💗🐐

We’re all home and safe! We are so grateful to all the firefighters and first responders for keeping our residents and property safe. A very special thank you to everyone that helped and offered help. A huge shout out to Peffer’s Tree Service (Robert is amazing), Nora and Ted Warnick (who’s dedication is unmatched), Melissa Hamre and Kim Rolleri (their selfless willingness to house our personal pets is beyond words), Alfredo (who has the best chicken transport) and everyone that offered words of hope and comfort! Thank you all so much 🙏🏼❤️

It’s been a stressful rollercoaster of a week so far. Monday evening on the way home from work a huge fire could be seen about 20 miles from the rescue. As the night went on, we watched, it moved closer. We sat up all night out with the animals to keep an eye on the progress. By the middle of the next morning it looked like it was moving too fast so we made the decision to evacuate. We were in the evacuation zone. It was a move we had to make despite knowing some of the rescues are untouchable. We loaded who we could and called the Evacuation Team of Amador to help. They were able to remove a lot of the goats and chickens before it became too dangerous that night. We did a lot of praying and held faith in our incredible firefighters that they would be able to stop it before it reached our property. They did. It was a long agonizing 24 hours before the evacuation team could go in to check on everyone, feed and fill waters. We were beyond relieved to hear that everyone is alive. Today we were able to go check on them ourselves and verify, all are safe and well. The gratitude we have for everyone involved, those caring for our personal pets while we’re evacuated, the evac team that got those out they could, the fairgrounds for housing those we could get and the firefighters who are so brave, is beyond measure. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts truly. We are blessed.
