Hello all! Due to the weather, scheduling for Memorial Day has been difficult. Due to a break in the rain we will be at Red Marble
Cemetery Sunday (tomorrow) at 0900 to place flags on Veterans graves and continuing to Valleytown Cemetary afterward. Any help is welcomed. We will have a Memorial Day Ceremony at our Post at 1000 and it is open to the public.

Monday is Memorial Day and today is Buddy Poppy Day ! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ The buddy poppy program raises money for our relief programs which is only used to support local Veterans. We are set at Ingles and and hall park across from snowbird brewery. Come support us and come by and say hey.

Sorry for the late post but it’s been a busy week. We only had two contestants for the chili coookoff so sampling was free. Cheryl Peacock was first place and Amanda Ramler took second place, both batches of chili were very good.
We presented our scholarship winner, Madison Queen with a $500 check for her patriotic essay on stage. It was a tough choice between the entries as all were very well done.
We sold out of raffle tickets and drew our winning ticket and the winner is John Esposito, an Army Veteran who was surprised and happy at being the winner.
Some of our members were also on hand this morning to help set up for Andrews spring fling. Always busy here with Memorial Day approaching with Buddy Poppy’s and flags on Veterans graves coming soon.

The plan for the Cookoff is to be at the Post at 0830 to pick up tables and supplies and be at the airport by 0900. Still openings for more cookers, be there by 0930 if you’re cooking. You will be able to drive your supplies at our hanger for drop off.

We are one week away from the Welcome Home event and our chili cookoff. Looks like it will be a beautiful day, perfect for this event. We need some RSVPs for the cookoff so we know how many tables, chairs, power cords and such to bring. We still have openings for cookers, all styles welcome, spicy, mild, beans, no beans, even white chili. If you have competed before you know its a good time, new cookers come out and show your chili cookin' skills.
We will be located in a hanger with power so we'll have shade. We will also be awarding our Scholarship and drawing the winner for our carbine raffle. This event always has a good turnout and a great time for all.
