Together We Make A Difference
Never underestimate SMALL. SMALL can really make a BIG Difference.
Several Small non-profits that all have one thing in common, a child they love has a disability and we are coming together to make a difference.
Some are doing housing for adults with intellectual disabilities and reject the term Group Home while others are providing activities and do not want to be called a Day Program. These are parents who think outside the box and are proving the Status Quo is not acceptable any longer.
We want warehousing of our adult children to Stop. We want housing that is a Home not a Placement and we want activities that are Challenging and Fun, not repetitious and boring. What better way to do this but with parents in charge?
2001 Katie's House was born providing housing and activities that were different from Group Homes and Day Programs. That was the start and since then The SMILE of Hopatcong Rebecca's Homestead Peace by Piece NJ, INC Lennon's House A NJ Nonprofit Corp Life With Joy Inc Anchored in Love,Inc are just a few, all making changes for our kids with disabilities in NJ. We are friends and not in competition with each other. We share what we have learned and reach out to help other parents change the system One Step At A Time by Thinking Outside the Box.
No Big Income and No Big Salaries. Just parents that want change. When you make that donation please consider small non-profits with no big salaries.
