A huge thank you to one of our amazing youth volunteers, Jillian! ❤️

Jillian recently participated in our Flex Volunteer Program and collected over 300 boxes/bags of pasta for The Weekend Bag Program! What an incredible job and such a great example of young people making a difference in their community.

Tonight, we had the honor of welcoming members from the Sussex County YMCA Veteran Wellness Program to The Weekend Bag Program warehouse to help pack bags and log donations. What an amazing group of people! Thank you for coming out tonight, supporting our mission, and for your service to our country.

A special thank you to Jenna for reaching out and helping set this up — we truly appreciate it!

At The Weekend Bag Program, we love and appreciate our veterans. We are truly grateful for all you have done and continue to do. Our veterans are the reason we have the freedoms and future we do today, and together we work to support our youth — because they are our future. ❤️

Thank You Mrs. Nowaczyk, Mrs. Weatherwalks, the Green Hills Student Council, and all the students for hosting a Floor Hockey Tournament this past Friday after school to collect items for The Weekend Bag Program and support our mission!

This is another amazing example of how incredible kids can be when given the chance, opportunity, and support. They come up with creative and fun ways to help others while getting even more students involved. That kind of kindness and community spirit is contagious — and we absolutely love seeing it!

Last night was a busy, busy night for The Weekend Bag volunteer team! Everyone was juggling multiple jobs just to get everything that needed to be done completed.

We truly have an amazing volunteer team — dedicated, fun to work with, and always willing to roll with whatever needs to happen. No matter how crazy the night gets, this crew always shows up ready to make it happen.

Thank you Beth, Abbie, Chrissy, Jillian, Mindy, Ryan, Joe, and Wayne. What a crazy night, but we got it done!

You all are amazing! 💚

Yesterday was a busy one for us at The Weekend Bag Program.

I had a couple meetings, then did a donation pick up and a bulk shopping trip at Byram ShopRite before heading to pick Magee up from school so we could meet our Girl Scout friend Colleen and collect their troop donation. From there, it was off to Sparta ShopRite for another bulk shopping trip to grab items needed for last night’s bag packing.

Magee had already been up since 6:30am, went to school all day, then spent the rest of the day helping with donation pickups and almost two hours of shopping at ShopRite. We then raced back to the warehouse to meet our friend Erin from Franklin Borough School and collect donations from their National Junior Honor Society students. After a very quick stop home so Magz could change out of her uniform — and by this point it was already 6pm — we headed right back to the warehouse to unload everything and start packing bags.

We finally wrapped up around 8:30pm, and by then nobody even wanted dinner. It was a quick shower, homework for Magee, and then crashing for the night.

A very long day for this kid. But as she says, “I’m used to it… it’s what we do.” 💚

Thank You Colleen and Girl Scout Troop 98781!

These amazing girls chose to bless The Weekend Bag Program by reaching out and asking what items were most needed. Using their hard-earned Troop money, they went shopping for those items themselves. Colleen shared that the girls carefully searched for the best deals, but also wanted to make sure the items they purchased were things they, as kids themselves, know and enjoy. We absolutely love that!

These girls showed such compassion, kindness, and thoughtfulness. While being mindful about spending their money wisely, they also made it a priority to choose items that most kids would genuinely like and appreciate.

They are proving once again that kids can do amazing things when given the opportunity and support to do so.

Thank you Girl Scout Troop 98781, and thank you to your leaders and parents for raising such caring and thoughtful young ladies. 💚
