🎓 Senior Shoutout: Jonah 🎓

Today we recognize Jonah—not only an employee, but a longtime member who we’ll remember for his trivia skills and his ability to engage and entertain youth. We’re also grateful for his role in building a brand-new handicap-accessible Gaga Ball pit this past fall.

Next stop ➡️ Virginia Tech (Honors College), where he’ll be studying Aerospace Engineering 🚀

Jonah shared:
“From starting back in sixth grade and coming to Block Party and Night Riders (skiing), to getting through the storm of COVID with Adirondack chair building and cooking classes, to now working as a staff member—building a Gaga Ball pit and teaching youth how to fish—AYS has been there to support and encourage my growth.”

What he’s loved most about AYS?
Getting to know the kids and growing closer to the community 💙 And in his words, his “cherished favorite”? Teaching kids how to fish at Pomps Pond during Outer Limits 🎣

Advice for younger members 💭
“Enjoy your childhood and appreciate the value of time—it’s one of the few irreplaceable things in life.”

In five years, Jonah sees himself serving his country as a defense contractor or pursuing a graduate degree.

What has the Youth Center taught him?
“The only way to move forward through a challenge is to take the first step into the land of the uncomfortable.”

Thank you for everything, Jonah—we’re excited for your future and we’ll see you back for Outer Limits Summer 2026!

🎓 Senior Shoutout: Jimmylee 🎓
Jimmylee once attended the Youth Center as a middle school student and later volunteered, and is now working with us! Next up for Jimmylee is UMass Boston this fall! While still exploring options, Jimmylee is leaning toward a future in sports business or another business-related field—seeking to turn a love for sports into a career!
His favorite part of the Youth Center? Connecting with so many new kids and building meaningful relationships along the way!
Top memories:
Gaga Ball and basketball!
Jimmylee shared with us that “The Youth Center taught me how to become more confident in who I am.”
And he leaves us with some advice for the younger kids :
“Never give up on your dreams, even when things don’t go your way. Stay consistent, believe in yourself, and keep pushing—you’re capable of more than you think.l

We’re proud of you, Jimmylee—keep striving and dreaming big ✨
