Andover Pack 533 Cub Scouts

Pack 533 kicked off the new school year with an amazing first Pack Meeting! We welcomed several new families interested in joining our pack, and the energy in the room was incredible.

Scouts jumped right into hands‑on fun — building Regatta boats, stacking spaghetti towers, launching exploding frisbees, and playing yard games that had everyone laughing. Thank you to America, Troops 533 & 1533 for helping our Cub Scouts with the activities.
Families had the chance to meet one another, connect, and start forming new friendships that will grow throughout the year.

A fantastic start to what’s shaping up to be an exciting year of Scouting adventure!

Cub Scouting is more fun with friends!
A new school year is starting soon and so is a new year of scouting. Does your kiddo have a friend who would enjoy scouting. Do you know a family who would enjoy the same outings, activities, and experiences we all love also? Have your kiddo invite them to Pack 533 events! If they sign up your cub scout will receive their recruiter patch from the council.

Pack 533 hit the Redbud Trail in Andover this past weekend for a great family hike! The Scouts enjoyed perfect weather and plenty of trail time together. After the hike, everyone gathered for s’mores, pudgy pies, and roasted Starbursts, making for a fun and relaxed afternoon around the fire.

It was a fantastic outing with families spending time together, laughing, and enjoying the day. Great weather, great food, great company.

World Scout Scarf Day, August 1st of each year, commemorates the first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island in 1907.
On World Scout Scarf Day, all active and former Scouts are encouraged to wear their neckerchiefs as a visible commemoration of Scouting.
Join in on the World Scout Scarf Day celebrations by wearing your favorite neckerchief and woggle all day long.

Pack 533 had an awesome Fishing Adventure today at Andover Central Park!
Our Scouts spent the morning learning skills, practicing patience, and reeling in excitement along the banks of the lake.

A huge thank‑you to James Goff and his crew for coming out to teach our Scouts. Their instruction, enthusiasm, and hands‑on support made the day unforgettable. We loved having you with us and appreciate everything you shared with our pack.

From casting practice to catching fish to enjoying lunch together, it was a perfect Scouting Saturday filled with learning, laughter, and family fun.

Great news for all our Scouting families! Beginning August 1, 2026, the Quivira Council of Scouting America is making some big changes to help keep Cub Scouting and Scouts BSA more affordable and accessible.

The annual Program Fee is dropping from $80 to $60 per Scout, and families with multiple children will see even more savings. Under the new structure, the first child renews at $60 and each additional child renews for just $30. This means real savings for families who have more than one Scout and want everyone to stay involved.
