THINKING ABOUT GETTING YOUR MASSACHUSETTS LTC OR FID?

Start with fi***rm safety training at Lawrence Rod & Gun Club. Our Massachusetts/NRA-certified instructor will guide you through safe handling, responsible ownership, and shooting fundamentals—with classroom learning and one-on-one live-fire instruction.

Whether you’re considering your first fi***rm or want to build your knowledge and confidence, we’re here to help.

*WHEN
The last Saturday of each month
8:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m.
Contact us to confirm the next class and availability.

*WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
• Safe fi***rm handling, storage, and care
• Handgun shooting fundamentals
• Guidance on choosing fi***rms and am******on
• Personal protection in the home
• Laws related to fi***rm ownership and transportation

You’ll also receive individual range instruction using a revolver and a semiautomatic pistol.

*CLASS COST
• Non-members: $100
• Members: $35
• Junior members: Free

Tuition includes classroom instruction, range use, fi***rms and am******on for the class, an NRA course textbook, and Massachusetts and NRA certificates of completion.

*JOIN THE CLUB & SAVE
Students who join Lawrence Rod & Gun Club receive a waiver of the $50 initiation fee.

OUTDOOR RANGE NOTICE

Attention members: The Lawrence Police Department will be using the outdoor range for officer fi***rms requalification training every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout October and the first week of November.

Scheduled dates:
• October 1
• October 6–8
• October 13–15
• October 20–22
• October 27–29
• November 3–5

The outdoor range will be unavailable to members while training is taking place. Please plan your visits accordingly.

📢 Chapter 135 Informational & Advocacy Session

Lawrence Rod & Gun Club encourages our members, families, friends, and members of the wider community to attend this important session:

📅 Wednesday, September 16
🕕 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Centralville Sportsmen’s Club

Representatives from GOAL, NRA-ILA, USCCA, and the Civil Rights Coalition will discuss Chapter 135, explain what is at stake, and answer questions.

This issue extends beyond fi***rms ownership and raises broader constitutional and civil-rights concerns. We especially encourage attendees to invite friends and family members who do not own fi***rms but would like to learn more.

Please share this post and the attached flyer to help spread the word beyond the traditional fi***rms community.

Open Trap Is Fully Operational at Lawrence Rod & Gun Club

Open Trap is up and running at Lawrence Rod & Gun Club, and we’d love to see you on the line.

Whether you’re an experienced trap shooter or someone who has been thinking about trying trap for the first time, new shooters are always welcome. Our trap community is friendly, supportive, and happy to help newcomers get comfortable.

Our current Open Trap schedule is:

Fridays at 9:00 AM
Saturdays at 12:00 PM
Sundays at 10:00 AM

Effective immediately, Open Trap pricing will be:

Active Club Members: $4 per round
Non-Members: $5 per round

This small price increase is to reflect the increasing cost of clay targets and the day-to-day expenses required to keep the trap field operating safely and consistently.

At the same time, we’re happy to keep pricing the same for active club members at $4 per round. Our goal is to continue offering affordable trap shooting for our members while keeping Open Trap available, welcoming, and accessible to the public.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Lawrence Rod & Gun Club and our trap program. Come out, break some clays, and enjoy a great day at the club.

Trap Field Open Tomorrow – 10:00 AM

We’re happy to announce that the trap field will be open for shooting tomorrow starting at 10:00 AM!

A big thank-you goes out to our dedicated crew, who put in a lot of hard work cleaning and getting the trap field ready so everyone can enjoy a safe and great day of shooting. Their effort really makes a difference, and we appreciate it!

We invite all members and guests who would like to join us to come out tomorrow, shoot a few rounds, and enjoy some time at the club. We’d love to see you there.

Key Night Reminder – Monday, February 2nd

Monday, February 2nd is Key Night. Members whose dues are paid in full may attend the meeting and pick up their key. We will be working from a list of paid members.

Please note that memberships not renewed by January 31st will incur a $10.00 late fee.

If you’re unable to attend Key Night, keys will also be available for pickup on the following Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM:

February 7th

February 14th

Members who have paid their dues but did not include a stamped envelope may also pick up their membership cards at that time.

Please be advised:

No membership renewals will be processed on the night of the meeting.

There will be no raffle on Key Night.

Keys will be distributed after the meeting at a cost of $3.00.

Please bring exact change.

Hello everyone!
Just a friendly reminder that our Installation Banquet will be held next Wednesday, January 14th at 6:00 PM at the clubhouse.
This will be our first meeting of the year, and there will be no meeting prior to this event. It’s also a special night for the club, as the Board will be officially sworn in for 2026.

Tickets are $20 each, and a great meal will be served! Dinner will be catered by J Brian’s and includes:

-Sausage mac & cheese
-Chicken wings
-Assorted pastas
-Salad
-Dessert

Tickets are required. Please see Bill Chambers for tickets or give him a call at 978-397-5812. Tickets will be available at the door, but it’s very important that you contact Bill ahead of time so we can get an accurate headcount for the food order. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to accommodate anyone who shows up without calling ahead.

This will be the last reminder before the banquet, so please be sure to reach out to Bill if you plan on attending. We hope to see you there as we kick off the new year together!
