Full job description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Camp Director to lead our summer day camp program; Andover Summer Camp. The Camp Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all campers. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to youth development, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and community partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in education/recreation and a background in working with students. We are looking to fill this position ASAP so that the Director may be involved in the planning process.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement camp programs that align with educational goals and promote personal growth among campers.
Supervise camp staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality programming and camper engagement.
Manage daily operations of the camp, including scheduling activities, maintaining facilities, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Foster a positive camp culture that encourages teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among campers and staff.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding camper progress, safety concerns, and program updates.
Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback from campers, staff, and parents; make adjustments as needed to enhance the overall experience.
Collaborate with community organizations to enhance programming opportunities and resources available to campers.
Requirements:
Proven experience working with students in an educational or recreational setting.
Strong background in education/childcare or related fields is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
