Hello friends and neighbors. We are in a situation, locally and globally, where we suddenly feel vulnerable. No matter your salary, the last couple of days has seen a dramatic shift in comfort. What we once took for granted is now threatening to disappear. Even as I write this, I worry where I will find my next roll of toilet paper. All joking aside, we did not prepare as much as many others and may face a very first world problem shortly. Shopping at Hannafords yesterday was pleasant and the lines weren't too long, but there was no dried pasta or any frozen or canned vegetables to be found.
I ran into a friend today at the Belletettes counter. We were talking about the toilet paper shortage and I sincerely asked what we should do. He told me that all we have to do is ask. Whether it's a roll of toilet paper, a can of soup, or a package of spaghetti, someone close to you has extra and will happily share. This is the great community we live in and I'm so thankful that this individual reminded me of this.
