When you see a baby with a trach, it can be easy to notice the tube first. But behind that tube is a baby who wants to be held, who laughs and smiles, who plays, learns, grows and makes memories with their family.

Life with a trach may come with extra equipment, extra care and challenges that other families may not experience. But it is still filled with the same little moments that make childhood so special.

A trach is part of their story — but it doesn't define who they are.

This message touched our hearts so deeply, we couldn’t choose just one or two sentences to share, we had to share the whole thing.

We are so grateful to this family for sharing their experience and allowing us to share their words with our community.

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the Survival Kit you sent for our child who is receiving a tracheotomy.

This has been one of the hardest journeys our family has ever faced. When I opened the box, I immediately started crying. From the beautiful tissue paper to the thoughtful card, it was obvious that every detail was prepared with love and compassion. Then I saw the Elmo inside, and I completely lost it. In the middle of so much fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak, your gift brought comfort, encouragement, and hope.

What you are doing for families is absolutely amazing. It is beautiful. It is thoughtful. It is a reminder that we are not alone in this journey.

I was so impressed by your program that I shared information about it with our local children’s hospital. I sincerely hope they become involved because every family facing a tracheostomy journey should have the opportunity to experience the kindness and support that you provide.
