This year we are participating in a summer reading program hosted by Texas Roadhouse. Stop by the library site at the Rightway Food Mart in Andersonville and pick up your summer reading bookmark. (These will be inside the book box, and we will add more every few days until we run out. We only have 50. So,please don't take more than you need, to allow more children to participate.) Once your child has read 3 books, you can redeem the bookmark for a free kids meal.

Has anyone found this book in the box at the gas station in Andersonville? It belongs to a school library and was placed in the box by accident.

Caught some of Santa's helpers adding Christmas books to the boxes today!!!! We also added some new "regular" books for our older readers (pr***en and teen). We noticed LOTS of new, great donations had been made as well!!!! Thank you all for your support and donations to make this dream a reality! ❤

I know it's early, but this mama always gets into the Christmas spirit early.🌲 I blame it on high school chorus, and the fact we started practicing Christmas songs in August. 😉

So, this is totally not "library related", but I wanted to share a great way to give back this holiday season without spending a penny....

Every year Macy's has their "Believe" promotion. For every letter sent to Santa, either online or by dropping it in one of Santa's special mailboxes in stores, they donate $1 to Make-a-Wish, up to $1 million.

As the parent of a child who received her wish, I can never do enough to thank Make-a-Wish for what they do for children with life threatening illnesses and their families. ❤

I'm attaching the link to the online letters, as well as the downloads for post cards and a guide for educators and community leaders. The guide has some cute activity sheets, including a Letter to Santa sheet. For our post cards, I printed them double-sided, otherwise it will be 2 sheets. I think these are cute to use even if you won't be in an area that has a Macy's. You can have the kids write their letter/post card, and then put it online (through the link) for Make-a-Wish to still get the benefits.❤
