Hey, you elves, get off your shelves! Come to our gift shop for Christmas in July (and part of August--we started a little late)! Gifts for all ages at half price--sweatshirts, books, puzzles, ornaments and lots more! Beat the heat with a cold drink or an ice cream while you browse. Don't wait until the lines are long and the prices are high. Be the first to get your shopping done early, and when November and December roll around, relax with us with a cup of hot chocolate, hot cider or coffee while your friends and family are battling the crowds and long lines at the mall. Anderson, are you ready to 🎤ROCK?!🎤

We're hosting Music Night at the Anderson Main Library on Friday, July 10 from 6:30 PM to 9 PM! Swing by for this special after-hours program and experience a night of music and dance. Adults can enjoy line dancing and music bingo challenges. Teens will experience the ultimate Silent Disco with glowing headphones and nonstop beats. Little ones can dance the night away at our Light-Up Dance Party filled with music, movement, and colorful fun. Bring your friends, your family, and your best dance moves for a night the whole community will enjoy!

No registration required. We'll see you there!

Our library has an incredible summer planned and part of the activities will be puppet shows with Janeen Miklos. These are no ordinary puppet shows though. Janeen considers herself to be a zoo ambassador and her puppets are realistic. She entertains and educates with animal stories and facts and can also be found volunteering at the Anderson County museum.

When asked how she got into doing puppet shows, she revealed that she's loved puppets since she was a child and still has many from her childhood although they've all retired now. As a lifelong Girl Scout, she's been puppeteering for 44 years. Janeen has also done a lot of community based programs like STEM as well. She'll be making the rounds at our library branches from June 17th through June 30th. Bring the kids, including the grown-up ones for this fun and informative activity!

Whoohoo! Ice cream is back at the Friends of the Library gift shop thanks to Lowe's Home Improvement. We want to extend a big thank you to the friendly employees and management who helped us get a great deal on a new freezer. Stop in before or after your library visit and cool off!

Join us for an exhibit opening this Friday!

Wendy Converse, winner of the 5th Annual Art Slam art competition, will have an exhibit on display at the Anderson County Library main branch through the end of May.
Wendy spent 14 years in Massachusetts studying under numerous ceramic and sculpture artists in order to expand her vision and skills. In 2014, Wendy relocated to Salem, SC to focus on her art and family. Her work has been shown in galleries up and down the East Coast and in private collections across the country.
