Domestic violence can have a devastating and lasting impact on both women and children. Women who experience abuse may suffer physical injuries, fear, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, financial hardship, and isolation from family and friends. The effects can continue even after the abusive relationship has ended, making emotional healing and rebuilding a sense of safety difficult. Children are also deeply affected, whether they experience abuse directly or witness violence in the home. Exposure to domestic violence can lead to fear, sadness, anger, difficulty concentrating in school, behavioral changes, sleep problems, and challenges developing healthy relationships. Children may also begin to believe that abusive behavior is normal if they do not receive appropriate support and guidance. Providing women and children with safety, compassion, counseling, supportive services, and a stable environment can help them heal, regain confidence, and build healthier, safer futures.

There is so much I wanna do to help others feel heard, safe, cared for and love. Not just because, but because I know how this feels and others feeling this way doesn't sit right with me.
