The Kiwanis Club of West Anderson was chartered by Kiwanis International on June 5, 2002. It is a part of a worldwide community of men and w omen dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Being a member of Kiwanis gives one a sense of community, a source of fulfillment, and a history of impact. Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis International club, no matter wher
e in the world it’s located. Kiwanis members stage nearly 150,000 service projects, devote more than 6 million hours of service and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. Key Club members pitch in 12 million hours of service each year, and CKI members another 500,000 hours of service! Aktion Club members donate another 92,000 hours of service every year. Add it all up, and that’s more than 18 million hours of service every year! This local club seeks to identify ways in which it can impact the lives of children and youth in the Anderson area through partnerships with the CASA, Kids Talk, Salvation Army, Madison County Youth Leadership Academy, United Way Born Learning, St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. The club joins with other clubs throughout Indiana to support the District project at Riley Hospital for Children. The club has joined with Kiwanis members in 80 other nations to raise over $110 million to eradicate iodine deficiency disorders throughout the world. The club now supports the Kiwanis International project to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus throughout the world.
