Today, we bow our heads in gratitude to the heroes who have worn the uniform — our veterans and first responders who have given their all to protect our freedom, our families, and our way of life.

At Dying Defiantly, we have the privilege of walking beside some of the bravest souls imaginable — heroes who continue to face terminal illness with the same courage and defiance they showed in service. They remind us that strength isn’t just found on the battlefield — it’s found in the quiet moments, in the fight to live fully, love deeply, and leave a legacy of resilience.

Their stories humble us. Their spirit moves us. Their courage defines us.

Today, we celebrate the birth of our nation and the freedoms that define us as Americans. As fireworks light up the sky and families gather together, let’s take a moment to honor the true heroes behind our independence and continued liberty — our veterans and their families.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment remind us that freedom is never free. Behind every brave soldier is a family that also serves — loving, supporting, and standing strong through every deployment, homecoming, and loss.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day — In Honor of My Hero 🇺🇸
Today, I'm remembering and honoring all the brave souls who gave their lives in service to our country — especially my dad, Marshall Morris.

He wasn’t just a veteran; he was my hero, a man of strength, integrity, and deep love for his country and family. Losing him has left an emptiness that words can’t fill, but today I choose to honor his memory with pride and gratitude.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the true cost of our freedoms. For me, it’s also a time to remember the man who helped shape who I am — and whose legacy continues to guide me every day.

Thank you, Dad. Thank you to all who served and sacrificed. You are never forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

Hi everyone,
My name is Nicole Ora-ath. I want to take a moment to talk to you about something that means the world to me because it meant the world to my dad—Dying Defiantly.

This nonprofit was founded by my dad, Marshall Morris. He started it with a fire in his heart and a mission on his mind: to stand beside terminally ill veterans and their families—people who’ve given everything, and who deserve to be honored with dignity, support, and love in their final chapter.

Losing my dad recently has been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. But even in his last days, he was thinking about others. Dying Defiantly wasn’t just his legacy—it was his heartbeat. He built this charity so that no veteran would have to face the end alone, and so their families would know they aren’t forgotten.

Now, I’ve taken on the responsibility of continuing what he started. I’m here to carry the torch—to make sure his vision lives on, and that our veterans continue to receive the compassion and care they’ve earned.

If you’ve supported Dying Defiantly before, I can’t thank you enough. And if you’re new to us, I invite you to join the mission. Whether it’s through donations, volunteering, or simply helping us spread the word—your support truly matters.

My dad believed in facing death with courage, dignity, and purpose. That’s what Dying Defiantly is all about. And I promise to honor him by fighting for every veteran who deserves that same strength and support.
