“He (Jesus) has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may… escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires” (2 Peter 1:4).

What’s wrong with the world? Where does the corruption in the world come from?

Some claim that corruption in the world is caused by a lack of education, opportunity, or resources. But the Apostles do not agree with that.
According to Peter, the world's corruption is caused by evil desires.

These desires are in us, and they corrupt us. As Paul said, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.” (Romans 7:18)

What does Peter mean when he says we can “escape” the corruption in the world?
More often than not we are facing greater challenges that are relentlessly pursuing us as if the entire world is against us. However, we have been set free and are not living in chains. Through the power of Jesus Christ, we have been released from captivity, and no longer living in darkness. We have escaped.
That’s our position as a believer in Christ.
But sin and temptation are pursuing us. Satan, the one who once had us in his clutches, persists in his pursuit of us. He is a lion that roars and seeks to devour us (1 Peter 5:8). Satan wants to put us back in chains, but God is with us and He will protect us.
Sin is still our enemy, but it is not our master (Rom. 6:14).

The world, the flesh, and the devil will relentlessly pursue you throughout your lifetime. Despite facing lifelong challenges, you are no longer in chains or captivity. You are not held captive or constrained. You have escaped! You can move. You can act! God has given you this freedom in the Gospel.

Peter says “Let me tell you about a faith that is big enough for life. Let me tell you about God’s power that gives us everything we need for life and godliness. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness (2 Peter 1:3)

And here is His promise: His Spirit living in us has given us new power, new desire, and new capacity so that we will escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires! Sin will no longer be your master!

Publicly want to Thank Greenville County Sheriff's Office for helping take the poison that is killing our people off the streets!!!
When I was in active addiction, prior to me KNOWING JESUS CHRIST, I never would have thought I would one day be THANKING LAW ENFORCEMENT!!! But I am so thankful for the men and women who sacrifice their lives on a daily basis to make our communities safe!!! I pray for each of you collectively that God keeps you safe while you in return make our communities safer!!!
God can change the heart of anyone, I am a living testament to this. I once was a hopeless addict, criminal, a thief and a liar!!! I hated cops because they were in my way while I lived the lifestyle I was living! BUT GOD!!!
I am no longer an addict and a criminal! I am FREE!!! I am whole all because I surrendered my heart and life completely to King Jesus🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻✝️
Now, I am a Husband, Father, Pastor of this Ministry that God has allowed me to Sheppard!!! Only God can do this!!!

We want to publicly give Jesus thanks this morning!!! A man entered our program straight from doing a three year bid in prison. Yesterday, that man gave his heart to King Jesus🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Let’s celebrate his salvation and keep him in prayer as we walk with him, disciplining him as he grows in the faith!!! I am so proud of him!

It’s just the beginning

I just want to take a minute to recognize our first resident, Beth Allen. Beth came to me as a resident at my previous job straight out of Serenity Place. She was 4 months sober from alcohol and was previously a he**in addict. Beth and her 4 year old son left her apartment and everything they had and went to get help. When she came to me she was defeated, but determined to make something of her life. I remember in her interview I asked her if she believed in Jesus, and she said I believe in him but I don’t know if I want anything to do with that, which gave us a good starting point. Instead of trying to push him down her throat we just loved her like Jesus does and it wasn’t long until her heart changed.
When we started KAM in June 2023 she moved in and her determination grew even more. She got a full time job, was doing school full time online, being a full time single mom, and within a few months had her license back and purchased a car. Since then she has gotten a promotion at work and now they have their own house, complete with Jack, a Great Dane.
Beth, we are so proud of you! Your story is just a small reminder from God of why we do what we do. I can’t wait to see what he has planned for your future. We love y’all!
