Good evening. I hope you are all well as we head into Thanksgiving.

I wanted to invite you all to a town hall that is being hosted by a group of community organizations. As you may know, the city of Anderson will receive a total of 23 million dollars for COVID relief (American Rescue Plan Act). As of yet, the city has not engaged the citizens to discuss how we would like to see these funds invested in the city. So we have taken it upon ourselves to hold a town hall and allow the community's voice to be heard.

I am attaching a flyer with all of the details. This is a nonpartisan event although one of the organizations involved is affiliated with the Democratic Party.

The Anderson Redevelopment Commission is meeting TOMORROW at 5PM to discuss how they want to use FIFTEEN MILLION DOLLARS, yes 15 MILLION DOLLARS from the Redevelopment Funds for a park (when we can’t even maintain the parks we currently have) 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ instead of investing that money into infrastructure that the West Side of Anderson DESPERATELY NEEDS so it can attract BUSINESSES (like a GROCERY STORE & PLACES TO SHOP AND EAT). If we don’t have the infrastructure we will NEVER attract the businesses. Please join the ZOOM meeting tomorrow and tell them “NO WE DON’T WANT A PARK DOWNTOWN UNTIL THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS PUT IN PLACE ON THE WEST SIDE”!!!

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana is moving to a weekly Tailgate Schedule for the month of June, in order to meet the need caused by COVID-19. Please make careful note of changes.

Distribution is while supplies last. No IDs, Proof of Address or Need required. All are welcome, regardless of home county. They are requesting that attendees only go through the line one time so they can serve everyone.

If you are walking up or coming via a vehicle too small to carry a load of food, please plan to arrive an hour after the tailgate starts.

Anderson Community Schools Summer Break Meal Program.

The program will operate June 6th - July 22nd on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11am - 1pm.
