Slumdog Rescue Crew - Friends of Anderson County Shelter We are a 501c3, K9 rescue in Andersonville, Tennessee partnered with Anderson County Animal Shelter. WELCOME TO SLUMDOG!

Slumdog Rescue Crew is a canine rescue located in Andersonville, TN. We are dedicated to rescuing URGENT dogs from the "slums" of high-risk shelters. We are a volunteer-based organization with animal and rescue experience amongst our volunteers. SRC is devoted to helping the most needy of the canines, rehabilitating the dogs under our care to physical and emotional health as they await their perma

nent homes. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed homes, following an adoption process, which includes an adoption application, vet reference check, and home visit. Slumdogs are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while awaiting their forever home. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. We strive to work with area shelters and other rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a village dedicated to saving homeless pets. We work with our local shelter, Anderson County Animal Shelter. We assist in helping these dogs in ways of transport, social media and outings. We are an active 501c3 non-profit organization. 💗The sweetest, deaf Bull Terrier looking for her forever home! 💗

Angel may not hear the world around her, but she has absolutely no trouble making sure you know just how much she loves you. 🥹🐾

This beautiful girl is proof that a disability doesn’t define a dog. She is sweet, affectionate, playful, and so deserving of a family who will see Angel for Angel, not for what she can’t do.

Because she is deaf, she will need a family who is willing to communicate with her through hand signals, touch, and consistency. Once you learn her language, she will learn yours. ❤️

Bull Terriers are such goofy, entertaining, big-personality dogs, and Angel is no exception! She has so much love to give and is ready to find the person who will make her world feel safe and full of love. 🏡💕

The shelter needs adopters and fosters this week. If you’ve been thinking about adopting a dog, please consider going to Anderson County Animal Shelter. They have so many amazing options right now, and they are overflowing.

They posted last night that they will be bringing in 4 more adult dogs at the end of the week. They have no space currently.

Stop by today to meet these amazing dogs. Let’s get them out of there.

🐾 MEET THE SPONGEBOB CREW! 🧽💛 🐾

These three little characters are 6–8 months old, and they are officially ready to find their forever families! Each one is wonderfully unique, and we absolutely adore them. 🥹

🪸 PLANKTON
Our one eyed handsome boy! 👁️💙 Don’t let his missing eye fool you. Plankton doesn’t let it slow him down one bit! He is just as playful, curious, and deserving of a family who will love him exactly as he is.

🏖️ SANDY
Our sweet little squirrel! 🐿️💗 Sandy has cerebellar hypoplasia, which means she has a little extra wobble and some wonderfully goofy movements. She may be a bit more squirrelly than your average kitten, which is exactly how she earned her name! 😂

🍍 SPONGEBOB
Our perfectly healthy, no special needs little guy! 💛 He’s ready to bring all the normal kitten chaos, cuddles, zoomies, and fun to his forever home!

💗 A LITTLE ABOUT SANDY’S CEREBELLAR HYPOPLASIA

Cerebellar hypoplasia, or CH, happens when the part of the brain that controls coordination and balance doesn’t fully develop. It is not progressive, it isn’t painful, and it doesn’t shorten a cat’s life. ❤️

Cats with CH simply learn to navigate the world a little differently. Sandy may wobble, have an exaggerated gait, or occasionally misjudge a jump, but she is still a happy, playful kitten who can enjoy a long, healthy, fulfilling life. 🥰

She may just need a little extra consideration with things like high places and slippery floors, but otherwise, she’s simply Sandy being Sandy! 🐿️💕

These three have been through a lot and are SO ready for the next chapter. Whether you have room in your heart for one or are looking for a pair, we’d love to help you find the perfect match. 🏡🐾

Unfortunately, Atari, now known as Bella, has recently been returned to ACAS.

Bella spent time in a loving home where her family learned just how wonderful she is. Unfortunately, she began resource guarding with the older dog in the home, and for the safety of both dogs, the difficult decision was made to return her.

‼️ BELLA NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY DOG ‼️

Bella is 49 lbs, spayed, microchipped, and absolutely LOVES her people. She is affectionate, loyal, playful, and happiest right by your side. She loves cuddles, walks, car rides, swimming, toys, belly rubs, and naps with her person.

Her previous adopter describes her as “a wonderful dog with one specific problem.” Her resource guarding has only been directed toward other dogs, never people.

Bella deserves another chance in a home where she can be the one and only. 💕

They are over capacity with dogs and kittens!

Take a look at all the sweet dogs who are currently available and waiting on their forever homes.

Unfortunately, the shelter is closed today for Labor Day, but they open back up tomorrow at 9 am. They really need to see some adoptions happen.

💕 Luke & Bean — the last two! 💕

Somehow, these two sweet boys are the final two kittens left from our 15-week-old litters! 🥹 And if you’ve been following along, you know just how special these babies are.

Luke and Bean absolutely adore each other. They play together, nap together, and seem to always find their way into the same cuddle pile. 🐾❤️

We would absolutely love to see them find a home together if there’s a family looking to add two kittens. They would make the perfect little duo and keep each other company while their humans are busy.

But we also know that the perfect home doesn’t always come as a pair, so they are also completely okay going to separate loving homes. Our biggest wish is simply that each of them finds a family of their own. 🏡💕

Meet Groundhog!

Groundhog is a little over 1 year old and cute as can be. She’s up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and spayed. She’s 55ish pounds.

Groundhog is young and energetic. She is still learning what a leash is. We think she will do well with other dogs, but meet and greets are always encouraged.

If you would like to meet Groundhog, stop by the shelter any time during their open hours and ask staff to get her out of her kennel. She would love to come out and play!
