The Arc: Community Programs

The Arc: Community Programs Community Programs: a creative place for clients of The Arc of Anchorage who experience disabilities

Sparc: a creative place is a visual art studio and
learning space located at The Arc of Anchorage main campus. We work to cultivate the vision of
The Arc of Anchorage: To be a community that
recognizes and embraces people of all abilities. Artists experience a professional studio space with dedicated facilities for ceramics, stained glass, painting, beading, printmaking and more. Sparc's program

curriculum celebrates self-expression through creativity, promotes independent living and life skills, while encouraging social enterprise and individualized portfolio guidance. Participants gain involvement within the greater art community, as well as opportunities for collaborations with other galleries, established artists and retail spaces. Professional art staff are available to provide an array of support based on the individual needs of each artist. From hand-over-hand support to helping an individual apply for shows outside of
Sparc, our staff meets the needs of individuals of all abilities. Sparc also provides day habilitation, public workshops, First Friday open houses, and gallery showings all in a fully ADA compliant facility, being accessible to all people.
