Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 367 announces its endorsement of Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins for Governor of Alaska in the November 3, 2026, General Election.
Throughout his years of public service, Jonathan has demonstrated a willingness to listen to working Alaskans and to engage on the issues that directly affect their families, their jobs, and their communities. As Alaska enters a period with significant opportunities for construction, infrastructure, energy development, and workforce growth, Local 367 believes it is important to have leaders who understand the value of a highly trained Alaska workforce and the role organized labor plays in building and maintaining our state.
Members of UA Local 367 work throughout Alaska as plumbers, pipe fitters, welders, HVACR service technicians, utility workers, and other skilled professionals. Our members build and maintain the infrastructure that Alaskans depend on every day—from schools, hospitals, military installations, and public facilities to utilities, energy projects, and major commercial and industrial construction.
Local 367’s endorsement reflects the issues that remain important to our membership: protecting collective bargaining rights, supporting responsible infrastructure and energy development, maintaining strong licensing and safety standards, expanding apprenticeship and workforce training opportunities, protecting prevailing wage standards, and ensuring that Alaska projects create opportunities for Alaska workers.
“Alaska has tremendous opportunities in front of us, but those opportunities need to translate into good careers for Alaskans,” said UA Local 367 Business Manager Aaron Plikat. “Jonathan has shown that he is willing to sit down with working people, listen to our concerns, and have serious conversations about workforce development, infrastructure, energy, and the future of Alaska.
Our endorsement reflects our belief that working men and women deserve a meaningful voice as those decisions are made.”
Alaska is facing important decisions regarding its energy future, infrastructure needs, military construction, public investment, and the development of the next generation of skilled workers. Local 367 believes cooperation between state leaders, employers, organized labor, and Alaska’s training programs will be essential to meeting those challenges.
